Our story begins on the continent of Arantha...
Shalizan
The Empire of Shalizan is a large empire in the eastern part of the continent of Arantha. The lands of the Empire are surrounded on all sides by natural borders: the voluminous Farsea Ocean to the east, the far-reaching Great Desert to the west, the ore-rich Shining Peaks to the north, and the impassible Shar Mountains to the south. The Shar, a race of humans, control the lands with their mighty legions although they are not its only inhabitants. Shalizan is also home to a sizeable group of halflings, a community of gnomes, and many dwarves. A number of elves even dwell within the forests of Shalizan... More
Thurlun
The Northern Kingdom of Thurlun is a kingdom that lies in north-eastern Arantha, along the junction of the Farsea Ocean and the frigid Northern Sea. The Kingdom is made up of an alliance between three large city-states: Dregost, nestled in the foothills of the Narwols, Belmor, situated on the coast of the Northern Sea, and Jangor, the throne city in the center of the Kingdom. Each city state is run by its own governor, all three of which swear fealty to the King of Thurlun... More

Situated at this idyllic confluence is the infamous port town of Crow's Landing, one of major centers of piracy in the southern seas and a constant source of consternation to the leaders of the nearby empire of Lorandia. Directly off the coast is a small chain of volcanic islands where both a group of halflings and a tribe of magic-using humans known as the Hundu make their home. The Hundu and the Lorandians are sworn enemies; each is determined to vanquish the other and make the Riverlands their sole domain... More
